I've amassed $5-15 worth of loose coins from over a dozen countries. My traveling days are over, I'd like to exchange them. Does anyone know if the exchange place would only charge a flat exchange fee or one based on the total amount of all the currency, or would they charge a flat rate/percentage based fee for each country's currency I exchange?
Banks and currency exchanges don't deal with coins. There are charity organizations that will accept them though. United Airlines, for example, runs one.
If this were all from one country, you might be able to find someone that is going soon and would like a small amount on arrival. You could do a straight exchange without commissions/fees and both benefit. In your case, that probably work out since the amount is small and varied. The coins may no longer have any value either since a lot of Europe has gone to the Euro.
The idea that someone else suggested of giving them to kids as collector's items is pretty good too.

I bought the MAC select moisturecover concealer and I don't like it, I want to exchange it for the MAC studio finish concealer. But the store where I bought the concealer is VERY far and I need to exchange it at my mall. Am I allowed to exchange it at a different location?
Yes, you are allowed to return it another MAC location--It does not matter what department store/MAC retail store is. If it is Macy's then they won't take the return unless if it is only from Macy's.

I'm thinking about switching hosted Exchange providers, perhaps even running my own Exchange server as I have in the past. The big challenge is to store my calendar, contacts, etc in such a way that they are easily transferrable to another Exchange server mailbox. Backing up other items such as categories would be nice, but not essential, as I believe those are stored locally in Outlook 2007 ( my client ). Thanks in advance!
CIT Bond Exchange May 'Burn' Investors, Analyst Says
Oct. 22 (Bloomberg) -- CIT Group Inc. ’s revised debt exchange offer may “burn” participating bondholders because the 101-year-old commercial lender tweaked a provision in the terms, according to Covenant Review LLC.
A change to the definition of credit agreement in the revised terms of the offer eliminating a $3 billion cap on future senior secured loans may have “cascading effects,” Covenant Review analyst Chris Chaice wrote in a report released today. It may allow New York-based CIT to issue new unsecured debt in exchange for notes held by investors who don’t participate or to repay them before maturity, he wrote.
“They made the covenants worse in a material way so people could get potentially burned,” Chaice, based in New York, said in a telephone interview. “If you held out, you could get a better deal.”
Last week, CIT revised terms of a $29 billion bond exchange announced Oct. 1. The swap is intended to reduce debt by at least $5.7 billion and avert a collapse of the company, which was locked out last year of the unsecured debt markets it relied on for funding. At the same time CIT pursues the out-of-court exchange of bonds, it’s also asking holders of the securities to vote on a prepackaged bankruptcy plan.
