I don't think the economy is right to buy now? But hey, I was wrong once!
How does Virtual Stock Exchange work, and how to join a challenge through Stock.Tech. (www.stock.tech.net.ms)
I am playing a virtual stock exchange game in economics class. The game will end on January 21, 2009. I am finding it difficult to invest following the huge bailout.
What would other people suggest I invest in. I'm interested in some pretty volatile markets, not anything long-term.
Almost all stocks are losing. You might pick some winners if you stick to EFTs like SH, SDS and DOG which move up when the market goes down. SSO is an ultra-short ETF that is even more volatile than SH.
Yeah it's pretty simple, but I just want to know what is a good stock to buy that will maximize my profits. The kid who made the game knows a lot because his dad has several stocks.
VMW, CROX, DRYS, CHNR, RIO
Hey we started a game in the VSE which is an online stock market that uses the real stock market but fake money. Anyway i've managed to make a 50% return in less than a month.
Does this show how i would do if i actually invested in the stock market?
keep in mind the vse has commission, like a broker, and a 20 min time period before buying or selling.
Not really. The problem is that the picks you already made won't happen again... so past performance doesn't really indicate what could happen in the future.
If you had done in real life exactly what you did in the virtual exchange you would have made your 50% return... but that's over and done with.
I hate it because of the delay time. Every time I make a trade I should wait for 20 minutes! Is there a site which has same its features but not much delaying time...?
Try scott trade or ameri trade for real action

My Upgrade to Karmic Koala : I've upgraded ever since Gutsy: to Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty. But this time, I did a fresh install of Karmic Koala, given the new Grub, ext4 and so on. Here are some things (bugs I mean - with potential fixes) I've experienced running Ubuntu Karmic Koala as my main OS (for about 2 days now):
The Grand Experiment - Linux Ads on Radio : For those that are not aware, two radio ads introducing people to Linux and our services/non profit recently ran on KLBJ AM radio in Austin Texas. The results were surprising in part...some of them confirmed wide-held suspicions about computer users in general. Some of them fostered thoughts of running knitting needles through my eyes... often.
Open core, closed heart? : When is an open source license not an open source license? The recent rush to "Open Core Licensing" as defined by Andrew Lampitt, the business development director of JasperSoft, raises many questions as to the meaning and purpose of free and open

Take a look at Marketocracy, which lets you the watch over one or more $1 million reciprocal funds. You have to in actuality log the buy and promote orders there, then they take in the right as a interest of real trading tome during the day. Also, they give you a courteous bringing off chart over epoch. I use it to assay out some of my ideas in "unaffected rhythm". For model, here is a portfolio I’ve been testing using Zack’s #1 rated stocks:
