Forex trading is simply high risk with high return. More than 90% of forex traders are making losses. Only the very good forex trader able to consistently making profit in forex trading.

As a newbie, I suggest you start learning from trading using a demo account. All forex brokers now offer demo account where it work just same as real account. Learn everything about forex trading, fundamental and technical analysis. Trade in demo account for at least 6 months. If you can consistently make winning, then you may want to move on opening a real account with mimimum deposit that you can afford to loss.

What is the source of foreign exchange reserves?

From trade, right? But when companies sell their products in foreign markets, it's the companies who collect the revenue, not the government right? So how does all this foreign money end up in possession of a central bank?

From trading their own currency.

just purchased a Foreign Exchange Market Expert Advisor. I am new, need advice.?

So i just bought this EA called "Ivory Tower" at itmt4.com. It backtests really well, and has done pretty good in live demo testing. However, I am not sure if I should go for it. I have searched EVERYWHERE and I can't seem to find reviews on the product good or bad. I don't want to tie my money into something that doesn't have a good reputation, but on the other hand it is testing really well. The only reason I bought it is because the offered a money back guarantee for 30 days so I figured why not. Now I am struggling with the idea of actually investing money with this thing. From my understanding the minimum you can put into an account is 2000, obviously for someone not insanely wealthy, this can be a significant amount of money. Does ANYONE have any experience with this product or in the foreign exchange trading. And if so can they tell me their experiences or offer me advice.

You have to watch out with all of those Expert Advisors.
May I ask what you have been paying for this EA?
My experience is that you have to use an EA only when you know something about the market..
In my case I didn't knew a thing about the Forex market.
That's why I decided to let my account being traded by a verry experienced person (my money mannager)
Here you can see the results that he has made in the past month:

Foreign exchange markets question?

How does the sale of bonds on the open market by the Fed affect the value of the dollar on foreign exchange markets, and how does that, in turn, affect the equilibrium level of gross domestic product and prices?

When the Fed increases the supply of money, each dollar has less purchasing power. If that purchasing power declines faster than that of other currencies, all other things remaining equal, the dollar will fall in relative value to those currencies.

Did you know the Federal Reserve is privately owned?

It is it has the title federal its like say Walmart is federal foreign product exchange the federal reserve is a company people who run it run our economy and guess what they don't have to answer to congress WTF!!???

You may want to do a little more research on the matter.

The Federal Reserve is a unique legal entity that can be described as an independent government agency with member bank participation. It is organized with a 100% government agency at the top (the Board of Governors), and branches beneath them that are organized like corporations with member banks as shareholders.(Ref: http://www.federalreserveeducation.org/f ed101/structure/ , http://www.federalreserve.gov/generalinf o/faq/faqfrs.htm#4 )

The Board of Governors are all appointed for 14-year terms by the president and confirmed by congress. It operates per it's charter and laws set by congress. it is overseen by congress. There is no structure or mechanism for private ownership at this level; it is a government agency. You can confirm this from a number of government sites that list it as a government agency (e.g. http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/ind ependent-agencies.html) Board members are forbidden by law to have any economic interest in a private bank. (Ref: Title 12 chapter 3 of the U.S. Legal Code). The Board determines monetary policy and provides high level oversight of the branches.

The 12 branches can be considered highly regulated private corporations. Member banks are required to buy shares in their branch. Each bank has one vote. They can vote for 6 of their 9 board members, the other 3 are appointed by the Board of Governors. Though the branches are called non-profit, the member banks get a standard 6% dividend on their shares. The remaining 'profit' is turned over to the Treasury at the end of the year. All 'national banks' are members. You can review the list of national banks at http://www.helpwithmybank.gov/national_b anks/bank_list.html .

For confirmation on this, check out how Hoovers classifies them:
http://www.hoovers.com/free/search/simpl e/xmillion/index.xhtml?query_string=Fede ral+Reserve&which=company&page=1 &x=91&y=2#HooversCompanyNameMatc hesH2

And those shares that the member banks own? Some say there are so many restrictions that it falls short of true ownership

From Edward Griffin, noted anti-fed intellect (http://www.bigeye.com/griffin.htm)

"It's a hybrid, part corporation and part government, part private, part government.
..
Every bank that's in the system is an owner of the Federal Reserve... But that's as far as it goes because those stock certificates do not carry with them any of the attributes of private ownership. For example, the holders of these certificates cannot sell them. If you can't sell something then you don't really own it, that's one of the tests of ownership, your ability to dispose of it. You cannot sell it. Furthermore the larger banks put up more money than the smaller banks, it's a ratio to their assets, so the larger banks have more stock certificates in the system than the small ones and yet regardless of the number that they hold, every bank has just one vote. There's another violation of the principle of private ownership. Furthermore that vote doesn't buy them anything. They can't vote for anything of substance; they cannot vote for their national management which is the most important thing, isn't it? The board of directors and chairman of the Federal Reserve System are appointed by the President, they're not elected by the banks that are part of the system, the President does that."

Of course, you will have the "Black Helicopter" crowd who get all their opinions and info from fringe web sites rather than authoritative sources. Don't be a fringee syncophant. Research it for yourself from objective sources.

Foreign Exchange Trading – The Information One Must Know About ...

Any expos that has a stance on the terseness, whether in a beeline or indirectly, is considered central. This scandal may incorporate the changes in the concision, changes to interest rates, factious elections, and logical disasters. In other countries, such as Italy, governments are less unalterable, and the liming of orderly elections cannot be forecasted in advance. To (he farthest side, we can look lo the capture of the Soviet Synthesizing, the new days of Iraq, and the factious tensions between France and Germany and the Coordinated States.

Fiscal factors are wholly timed and predicted. Lessen rates are changed by inner banks such as the Federal Cache (Fed) in the Joint States, the European Significant Bank (ECB), and Bank of Japan (BOJ), and although the changes in rates are kept in stiff privacy, markets awake to closely and make tracks their predictions in move onward. While reproach changes are mostly unbeknownst in push, the dates that the significant banks be introduced to are close by in the monetary intelligence.

A emergency may or may not have a mammoth bumping on a mother country’s currency.
