Yes, you are allowed to receive a real estate sales license and a broker license in the same year.I just recently took my sales person exam and went straight to the broker classes and took the test. However, I did not get a salesperson license before I got a broker's license. The law that you have to be a broker for 2 years has not been mandated yet by the state of Illinois legislature. And to answer your other question usually, from what I've heard, if you are a real estate broker and start with a firm, it'll be like you're just a regular salesperson and have to be sponsored by another broker, which is why I chose to go into business for myself. My brother is looking to sell his own properties but did not want to pay much on commission . So his wife applied for a broker license.
But after she got my broker license , they went into a situation that needs a lot of money , so they want to sell their 3 properties .
After more than 6 months ,they still did not sale our properties yet . I wonder is that because buyers don't like to buy house from broker's own properties ??

HARRISBURG - State authorities have revoked the kennel license of a Lancaster County puppy broker with a decades-long history of consumer fraud and other violations, officials announced yesterday.
The Department of Agriculture stripped CC Pets L.L.C. kennel owners Joyce and Raymond Stoltzfus of their license only weeks before a six-month, court-imposed license suspension was to have expired.
CC Pets, of Peach Bottom, sold more than 1,800 puppies last year for between $125 and $900 each, putting it among the state's highest-volume dog sellers.
The kennel, once known as Puppy Love, has been the subject of investigations and consumer-fraud lawsuits for at least 20 years.
Justin Fleming, spokesman for the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement, said, "There is a provision under the new dog law that allows the bureau to revoke a kennel license if there has been a cease-and-desist order involving the sale of dogs."
It was not yet known whether the couple would appeal the decision by Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding. The kennel owners were notified by mail Sept. 25 and have 10 days from receipt of the letter to appeal, Fleming said.
