Every dealer I call there is a minimum to be with them in trailing commissions, I don't have a huge book, but I will have other business ventures, and would like to find a broker/dealer with small fees and would allow me to slowly grow my business from the beginning? Any help out there?

We would be asking these clients if they needed a 401K and then if so - refer them to a broker/dealer. Can we recieve referral fees?
Answer from a General Insurance Agent
Yes, you can, but you can not receive commissions if you don't hold a license type in the same category.
Referral fees are fine...
Heck, even internet companies and web masters with no insurance license at all can charge referral fees and lead fees.
If I obtain my Series 7 license under the sponsorship of a particular broker-dealer, and then leave that broker-dealer and join another broker-dealer (I join the new broker-dealer shortly after leaving the first; say, within 2-3 months later), does my Series 7 remain valid with the new firm? Or must I re-take the exam under the sponsorship of the new firm?
Only for two years and then you need to take the tests again.

Can they really find out if I open up an account elsewhere to do my trading online? The commissions my broker dealer charges are way too high and I'm sick of paying all that commission when I can open up a brokerage account elsewhere and pay low commissions. If I get caught though I will get fired. Anyone have any idea if this can be truly found out by my current firm?
You don't get an employee rate? Anyway it may not just be a company rule, but a rule from the SEC to prevent fraud and insider trading.
No matter where you work you can hear and have access to confidential info.
As for how they scan records, I do not know if there is some central database for broker employees, probably not. If you are licensed, there is a more likely chance of some audit. Then yeah, maybe fired.
